Magazine Layouts
Going into this project I wanted to focus heavily on the layout of each page of the magazine and how viewers would interact with it. Once each layout was chosen and well thought out the fun part began! The first sketches show basic photos and text and how each page would be different from the others. After those handmade sketches, it was time to take the layouts to InDesign. By using the grid system for both the text and image placements, it was helpful to see where everything would line up perfectly.

Visual Problem
For the first 8 weeks of the term we had to choose a specific topic to research, photograph, document through writing, and visit frequently. Ultimately, you had to become an expert at knowing your topic of interest by designing a 20+ page magazine / book layout of everything you learned and that represents the topic well.
Solution
After sketching, designing, revising, and using typographic skills and photography, we had the opportunity to grow as graphic designers and photographers. The last 3 weeks of the term were designated to make a promotional video of your topic.
